Our Guest Blog series shouts out local partners that reflect our values and devotion to the craft. This month, we spoke with TapRM, an online beer service based in New York.
In the age of COVID-19, adapting a business plan is anything but easy. This rings especially true in the food and beverage industry, where closures and consumer habits have shifted the status quo. We want to shout out a particularly awesome partner of ours that’s taken all of these changes in stride: TapRM.
TapRM (pronounced “taproom”) is a beer delivery service based out of New York. The company launched last year with a focus on beverage distribution, e-commerce, and technology. While beer is a big part of their platform, TapRM also dabbles in hard seltzer, ciders, and other operations like marketing and data management. By providing all the tools and setup for brands, TapRM act as a bridge between breweries like us and you. You can order your favorite lagers online for delivery with ease, while we can focus more on our craft.
Founder Jason Sherman puts it best: “We’re not aiming to be a distributor, but we want to make sure that if we’re taking up brands, they still have the option of going to Whole Foods or to the bars. If anybody wants it, they can have it, we want to make sure we’re not restricting anyone from expanding just because they signed up with us.”
Case and point: Our brewery works with a local distributor and TapRM simultaneously to get our beer to as many spots in NY as possible. TapRM has essentially created the nation’s first beer distribution network that also has a full-service direct to consumer arm. And while COVID has caused issues for all, TapRM’s team has weathered the storm well.
“We started heavily on the distribution side,” explains Dan Minogue, TapRM Director of Brand Partnerships. “When COVID hit, our e-commerce side was what took off and launched us into this next step: [working] with more brands trying to reach consumers in New York. We’re the way a lot of these brands are able to do the fulfillment side and have extremely fast delivery. ”
Even in the midst of pandemic, TapRM is eyeing expansion plans later this year, and we couldn’t be happier for them! They prefer to parter with craft brands that are on the forefront of innovation and have an eye for digital marketing, so we’re excited we’ve been able to foster this relationship and continue bringing craft lager to NY. Be sure to check them out if you’re NY-based and throw them a follow on Instagram!
If you’re based there and want to give it a try, they’re offering two codes for free shipping when you buy our beer or beer from our partners at Springdale Beer Co.: GETJACKSABBY and GETSPRINGDALE, respectively. Prost!
