Jack’s Abby Brewing is seeking an eager, hard-working, dedicated individual for a full time position on our packaging team. This is an entry level position that involves working with a team of Line Operators and other Packaging Team Associates to successfully complete each day’s packaging requirements. Jack’s Abby Brewing is recruiting for a Cellar/Brewer for the Production team Team.  Jack’s Abby was founded in 2011 by three brothers, Jack, Eric and Sam Hendler. It is one of the fastest growing breweries in the country and known for making beautiful craft lagers under the Jack’s Abby Craft Lagers brand, as well as an innovative line of barrel-aged sours and new age ales under Springdale Beer Co.

This role is a fusion role where some time will be spent in the cellar and some time as a brewer, as the brew schedule requires. Cellar/Brewer position requires experience in both cellar and brewing experience. Jack’s Abby plans to brew around 60k barrels in 2021. Brew system is a CFT – 60 Barrel 4 vessel system- fully automated, CFT canning line and a GEA Westfalia GSC60 Centrifuge

Expectations:

  • Experience and comfort with both cellar and brewing processes.
  • Comfortable interacting with many different departments and individuals within the production department and throughout the company.
  • Availability and flexibility to work between cellar and brewer schedule as schedule requires.
  • Participate in all brewery operations including, but not limited to: Wort production, hop handling, malt handling, spent  grain handling, yeast harvesting, transferring beer, dry hopping, packaging, CIP cycles , and general cleaning/organizing. Description/Expectations: The cellar lead is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the cellar. This Position will be working closely with the packaging lead to ensure that products are ready for packaging and with the head brewer to ensure tanks are ready to receive wort. The cellar lead will be expected to have a flexible schedule (according to production schedule, may include working evenings, weekends, holidays), ability to work comfortably in a non-climate controlled environment, experience handling harsh chemicals safely, and have an understanding of pumps and centrifuge.

Jack’s Abby is hiring for a brewery sale representative based in the NYC area! Our brewery reps are continuously doing all they can to seek out new business, nurture current relationships, and advocate for our brands in growing markets.  We are looking for an entrepreneurial craft beer lover with ambition and flexibility in equal measures. The position requires work in the NYC area selling in Jack’s Abby Brewing brands at the retail level. The position requires collaboration with wholesaler representatives to ensure proper execution of goals and generate growth of the brand.  This position sometimes requires driving/traveling long-distances, sometimes up to 2 hours away from home.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Converse with and educate retail account managers, buyers, and consumers on our product.
  • Obtain commitments on product from buyers and properly communicate the orders to the appropriate distributor reps.
  • Merchandise product on shelves and in coolers.
  • Manage freshness of product in the market.
  • Constantly strive to make our product more visible by competing for better shelf/cooler space and tap handle placement.
  • Communicate constantly with distributor reps, team leaders and craft managers about our time spent in their markets via phone, text and email.
  • Seek out and report opportunities in the market.
  • Manage sales, prospect new business, and build lasting client relationships with minimal daily oversight.
  • Collaborate with management and distribution partners to meet sales goals and objectives.
  • Participate in overall sales strategy and goals planning for Jack’s Abby Brewing in the given region.
  • Thoroughly plan and record all sales activity.
  • (Eventually) Plan, coordinate, and participate in all events such as tap takeovers, regional beer fests, beer dinners and in-store tastings.
  • (Eventually) Oversee and schedule a small team of Brand Ambassadors. 

Job Requirements

  • Driver’s license, clean driving record.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize workload with minimal oversight.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
  • Minimum of two years relevant experience.
  • Experience with Lilypad, VIP, or other CRM tools is a plus.
  • Experience in the Craft Beer industry is a plus, but not required.
  • Sales, Customer Service, or Related Industry Experience Preferred.
  • Flexibility to work days, nights and weekends.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite, or similar system.
  • Understanding of craft beer and the markets that we are selling in.
  • Bilingual in Spanish/Portuguese, a plus.
