Description/Expectations: Jack’s Abby is hiring for a brewery sales representative based in Metrowest MA! Our brewery reps are continuously doing all they can to seek out new business, nurture current relationships, and advocate for our brands in growing markets.  We are looking for an entrepreneurial craft beer lover with ambition and flexibility in equal measures. The position requires work in the Metrowest MA area selling in Jack’s Abby Brewing brands at the retail level. The position requires collaboration with wholesaler representatives to ensure proper execution of goals and generate growth of the brand.  This position sometimes requires driving/traveling long-distances, sometimes several hours away from home.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Educate distributors, retailers and consumers about Jack’s Abby Craft Lagers and Springdale Beer Company products.
  • Build and grow brand presence and rate of sale in new and existing accounts.
  • Support brand growth through tastings, festivals and on-premise events.
  • Merchandise product on shelves, coolers and tap towers to maximize brand presence & maintain freshness.
  • Manage sales, prospect new business, and build lasting relationships with minimal daily oversight.
  • Communicate constantly with distributor reps, team leaders and brand managers via phone, text and email.
  • Thoroughly plan and record all sales activity.
  • Collaborate with management and distribution partners to meet sales goals and objectives.
  • Participate in overall sales strategy for Jack’s Abby Brewing.

Job Requirements:

  • A passion for the craft beer industry and its unique culture.
  • Understanding of craft beer and the relevant territory.
  • Driver’s license, a clean driving record and an ability to drive 500 miles weekly.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work days, nights and weekends.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize workload with minimal oversight.
  • Two years relevant experience required, craft beer experience a plus.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite.

Job Description: Jack’s Abby is in need of a brewery mechanic who can assist in the maintenance of the physical brewing plant of a large regional brewery including a 130,000 sq ft building with a taproom and a restaurant. The brewery operates an automated 60 bbl brewhouse, with 80,000 BBLs capacity, 36 head can line, 20 head can line, automated keg line, GEA Centrifuge, 8 million BTU boiler, 12 head bottle filler,  air compressor systems etc.This position would be primarily responsible for preventive maintenance on all equipment, including both canning lines, and the brewhouse. Job Responsibilities

  • Work well and professionally with all brewery management teams including the brewery, taproom, sales, marketing managers.
  • Responsible for servicing all equipment including motors, drives, electrical systems, pumps, with regular routine maintenance.
  • Follow SOPs for maintenance operations and preventive maintenance.
  • Work with management to continually recognize and assess possible plant improvements.
  • Assist maintenance personnel with repairs and PM’s as needed.
  • Respond to emergency calls during off shift as needed.
  • Weekend work may be required to accommodate preventive maintenance on machinery while it is not in use or when there are emergency maintenance calls.
  • Minimize the potential for any “down time” during the company’s normal production hours when equipment is down or is in need of repair.
  • Train production employees regarding the proper and safe use of the company’s equipment and facilities.
  • Ability to stay organized and follow directions/priorities listed in maintenance log and/or direction from manager.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • Experience within a brewery and or packaging lines is not required.
  • Passion for craft beer. 
  • Strong understanding/experience with mechanical and engineering systems.
  • HMI and PLC knowledge is a plus.
  • Ability to stand for 10+ hrs a day, bend & move limbs, crouch/bend, lift 50+lbs.
  • Comfort working in a non-climate control environment.
  • Bilingual (English, Spanish, Portuguese) is a plus, but not required.
  • Weekend/Off-schedule availability for required machine maintenance and/or emergency calls.

Description/Expectations: A packaging machine operator is expected to perform the successful operation of all canning, keg racking, bottling, and other general packaging equipment. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to work with a team of 4 – 5 packaging machine operators, work in a high pace environment under pressure, follow detailed instructions and standard operating procedures, problem solve, move up to 75 lbs, work on your feet for 10+ hours, safely handle chemical and sanitation products, operate powered industrial vehicles, perform general maintenance, and other miscellaneous duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
● Learn and operate all equipment on the canning, keg racking, and bottling lines
● Routine daily maintenance of all packaging equipment
● Inspect product and package quality with great attention to detail
● Maintain accurate packaging logs and reports
● Ability to problem solve and troubleshoot basic mechanical problems
● Maintain a positive, professional, and personal appearance that is reflective of the Jack’s
Abby culture
● Participate in weekly department meetings to review issues and propose solutions
● Safely use and handle chemical and sanitation products
● Comply with existing SOPs and make suggestions and revisions as needed
● Work independently with minimal supervision
● Work safely and use personal protective equipment
● Follow all company guidelines as outlined in the handbook – attendance, safety, IT, etc..
● Other miscellaneous duties as needed or assigned
● Keep all spaces clean and organized
● During downtime and slow periods work on miscellaneous projects including capital
projects, building management etc

Job Requirements:
● 1 year of brewery packaging experience or equivalent manufacturing experience
required
● Machine operating or manufacturing experience preferred
● High School diploma or equivalent
● Ability to perform repetitive tasks with a positive attitude
● Standing for long periods of time

● Good written and verbal communication skills
● Available to work long and/or flexible hours
● Forklift certification and/or experience is a plus
● Work well under pressure and at a fast pace
● Work independently and within a team with minimal supervision
● Must be dependable and have reliable transportation

Description/Expectations: This position supports the Hospitality Department’s business model during its day-to-day operations. Tasks and responsibilities may vary depending on the day. Tasks may include, but are not limited to: Host, Merch, Take Out, Runner, Busser, Server/Bartender, Service Bartender. Closely follow opening and closing procedures for the Beer Hall. Be able to perform other tasks related to Front of House operation as assigned by the Hospitality Management team. The FOH operator will follow all rules and guidelines laid out by the City of Framingham, CDC, handbook policies, and company illness policy.

 

Through 2021 this position will offer a $500 sign-on bonus!

 

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Host
    • Maintain great customer service under the Beer Hall’s counter service model; answer and assist customers when they have questions. 
    • Seats guests following guidelines, maintains occupancy restrictions, and sanitizes high touch point areas. 
    • Takes and manages all reservations. 
    • Assists other FOH operators when needed. 
  • Merch/Take Out
    • Assist customers with orders (i.e. placing orders via Toast & GrubHub, bringing orders o a customer’s car outside of the beer hall)
    • Completes orders with retail beer and merchandise to go. 
    • Maintains an accurate cash drawer. 
    • Follow inventory procedures for keeping the front of house appropriately stocked.
    • Assist with general Beer Hall/Kitchen organization and cleanliness.
  • Runner
    • Responsible for the precision of food and beverage dishes, delivering complete orders to the correct table or take out counter promptly and accurately. 
    • Runners pay extra attention to food allergies, restrictions and dietary preferences. 
    • Works closely with the counter service to ensure food and beverages accuracy. 
    • Communicate effectively with the manager on expo.
    • Sanitize high touch areas.
  • Busser
    • Maintain a clean & sanitary work environment, especially in high contact areas.
    • Serves patrons by settling tables, placing and replacing silverware, clearing tables.
    • Checks and maintains bathroom cleanliness.
  • Server/Bartender
    • Assists customers by taking their food and beverage orders. 
    • Works closely with the runner to ensure food and beverage accuracy. 
    • Pays extra attention to food allergies, restrictions and dietary preferences. 
    • Maintains an accurate cash drawer and handles credit card transactions. 
    • Change kegs as necessary.
    • Assist customers with basic needs at their tables.
  • Service Bartender
    • Assists counter service by fulfilling beverage orders through the service bar.
    • Works closely with the runner to ensure beverage accuracy (i.e. proper pour, proper glassware, proper sizing)
    • Maintains a clean and organized workspace. (i.e. cleans dirty glassware in glass dishwashers, restocks clean glassware on corresponding shelves, maintains clean countertops).
    • Change kegs as necessary. 

 

Job Requirements

  • Has strong verbal communication skills. 
  • Comfortable taking on tasks as assigned by the hospitality management team to ensure daily Front of House/kitchen operations
  • Be on time for scheduled shifts
  • Available for days, nights and weekend shifts of 5 hours or more. 
    • Must have Saturday and/or Sunday availability
  • Stand and walk for extended periods of time and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to bend, reach, twist and use your hands and arms
  • Knowledge of Toast and GrubHub as a cashier/receiving or placing customer orders a plus.
  • Has on-premise TIP Certification, or Alcohol Intervention Methods Certification a plus.
  • Craft beer knowledge is a plus.
