There’s not much that beats a homemade chocolate cake – UNLESS it’s made with beer. Check out our recipe for this Framinghammer Chocolate Cake, made with our Bourbon Barrel Aged Baltic Porter.
Cake ingredients:
- 1 cup Framinghammer
- 1/2 cup butter (melted)
- 2 cups sugar
- 3/4 cup cocoa
- 2 large eggs
- 2/3 cup sour cream
- 3 teaspoons vanilla
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
Topping ingredients:
- 8 ounces of cream cheese
- 1 1/2 cups confectioners sugar
- 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350 and line/grease a 9-inch pan with parchment
- Melt butter and pour beer and butter into a large bowl
- Whisk in sugar and cocoa, then eggs, sour cream, and vanilla
- Add in flour and baking soda, making sure to avoid lumps, then pour mixture into pan
- Bake 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean
- In another bowl, beat cream cheese until fluffy
- Add confectioner’s sugar and cream
- Frost the top of the cake once cooled
- Serve with Framinghammer!
