Have you ever wandered the beer aisle at your local liquor store and wondered how all those labels were created? Well, our talented Graphic Designer is opening up about her process and what inspired her as she worked on the labels for new releases in 2024. Check out the second label in this series below:

As the weather warms up we are excited to announce our new Refreshing Summer Lager, Porch Fest, that will be sure to be your new summertime favorite. As the name suggests, we were inspired by the country-wide community event, Porch Fest. The first Porch Fest was held in Ithaca, NY in 2007, and has since spread throughout New England and across the country.
Many towns in and around Boston participate and hold their own Porch Fest weekends every year where local bands and musicians play daytime sets from porches and front yards in their communities. We were specifically inspired by Somerville’s Porch Fest (held this year on May 11 from 12 – 6 pm).
Somerville is a city with tons of charm that emanates from its quirky residents to its whimsical buildings. Many homes in Somerville maintain a retro ornate curb appeal with lots of intricate crown molding and bright colors. These details along with the musical instruments used by Porch Fest bands inspired me to create a home facade using only musical instruments. The porch on our label includes piano key stairs, planters made of bongo drums, a guitar neck door, and many more musical easter eggs (check out the image below to find more). The Somerville Porch Fest also has a history of supporting and partnering with LGBTQIA+ organizations, so a rainbow was used as the backdrop to this colorful scene.
We are as excited for this beer’s release as we are to celebrate Porch Fests around New England with you all this summer (learn more about our plans here)! Cheers!
