Co-Owner and Brewer Jack Hendler says “Hi I’m Jack from Jack’s Abby and I’m excited to announce the return of our winter seasonal, Lashes Red IPL- this is the first beer we’ve released with our new logo on it. It’s a really hoppy malty winter beer. For those of you who don’t know why this beer is called Lashes- it was developed by and named after our Head Brewer, Lashes, who obviously has the most beautiful lashes and that’s why we call him Lashes.
This is more of a balanced hoppy beer than we normally do. Usually when we make an IPL the beer is a little bit drier, very hoppy, and it’s ALL about the hops. Where this one, we wanted to do more of a balance which means it’s malty, sweeter, it’s full bodied and the hops that are used, instead of giving it that tropical citrusy fruit flavor, give more of a piney earthy hop character to this beer. A big frothy head and nice lovely carbonation that we get from our traditional German spunding process that we use to naturally carbonate all the beers.
It’s just a beer I love to drink once it starts getting cold out. It looks beautiful, it tastes beautiful… it’s just a great seasonal that you can get from early November through January. So it’s available for three months, then you’ll have to wait to get some more.”
